Abstract
The aerodynamic coefficients of a plate in a hypersonic stream at low Reynolds numbers are studied over a wide range of similarity parameters. The dependence of the lift coefficientCY on the tangential force coefficient, the finite Mach number at the outer edge of the boundary layer and the velocity-slip and temperature-jump boundary conditions is taken into consideration. The nonmonotonic character of the relationship betweenCY and the Reynolds number, revealed previously in experiments, is explained within the framework of the viscous hypersonic interaction model.
