Abstract
In this work, we investigated the nonlinear optical (NLO) response using ZnO nanorods with integration of gold and silver alloys. The thin films of ZnO-nanorods-Au-Ag were chemically synthesized on glass substrate and characterized using FE-SEM, UV–Vis, and XRD, for their morphology, linear absorption, band gap, and lattice structure. NLO were analysed using Z-scan technique at 720 nm fs laser for open and closed aperture; referring to nonlinear absorption and nonlinear refractive index, respectively. The highest nonlinear absorption was observed in ZnO–Au NPs with β = 5.60 × 10−6 cm/W, and highest value of nonlinear refractive index was observed in ZnO–Au3Ag1 NPs with γ = 15.28 × 10−12 cm2/W. The third-order nonlinear susceptibility was observed the highest in ZnO–Au NP with χ(3) = 14.62 × 10−10 esu, shows great enhancement compared to ZnO NRs. NLO of a material are one of the important part of research that would provide good understanding towards optical devices and applications.
