Abstract
Some parts of the global ocean, apart from their traditional use (maritime transport, fishery, navy), become suitable for other technical activities and investments (e.g. gas and electricity transmission, wind farms, gas and oil extraction, gravel extraction, coastal protection). These activities interact with marine environment as well as can interfere with navigation. This paper discusses Baltic Sea large scale technical activities and points out their possible individual environmental effects.
