Abstract

I investigate non-Gaussian signatures in the context oftachyacoustic cosmology, that is, a noninflationary model withsuperluminal speed of sound. I calculate the full non-Gaussianamplitude \U0001d49c, its size fNL, and correspondingshapes for a red-tilted spectrum of primordial scalarperturbations. Specifically, for cuscuton-like models I show thatfNL ∼ \U0001d4aa(1), and the shape of its non-Gaussianamplitude peaks for both equilateral and local configurations, thelatter being dominant. These results, albeit similar, arequantitatively distinct from the corresponding ones obtained byMagueijo et al. in the context of superluminal bimetricmodels.
