Abstract

It has recently been suggested that non-linearity implies that the statistics governing the transient behaviour of translational correlation functions of the motion cannot be Gaussian. A computer simulation of CH 2 Cl 2 under EMLG pilot project conditions shows that rotational as well as translational motion exhibits strong dynamical non-Gaussian features. It is shown that these effects cannot be ascribed to the non-linear drift appearing in the Markoffian version of the Euler-Langevin equation. This strongly supports an investigation line based on the research of a hidden non-linear dissipation coupling.
