Abstract

This paper is on the actualisation of the epic character of Marko Kraljevic in the collection of tales Adventures of Marko Kraljevic by Branko Stevnovic. The aim of this paper is enlightening inter-textual connection of these poems with epic poetry and legends about Marko, and to foresee possible currents of its perception, depending on the reader's experience of the assumed reader. We are starting from the assumption that the collection is aimed for the youngest age groups, not having tendencies towards interpreting inter-textual dialogues and not being acquainted enough with our epic tradition. Possible function of inter-textual overlapping is being revealed and which is a stating point for the text in specific, non-chronological reading about Marko Kraljevic.
