Abstract
The coupling characteristics of the finite waveguide arrays are analyzed by taking into account the coupling between the non-adjacent waveguides. The sufficient condition to achieve Talbot effect in the waveguide arrays is discussed. The results show that the condition is more rigorous than that obtained by only considering adjacent coupling. It is closely related to the coupling parameter and incidence condition, and could be simplified by the incident optical field. The analysis results agree well with the BPM simulations.
