Abstract
Female Pattern Hair Loss (FPHL) has emerged as the preferred term for androgenetic alopecia (AGA) in women. FPHL is the most common hair loss disorder in women. Among menopausal women, as many as two-thirds suffer from hair thinning or bald spots. They experience a greater impact than men because it's less socially acceptable. Menopausal women already experience a loss of confidence and low self-esteem. Alopecia can severely affect a woman's emotional well-being and quality of life, leading to psychological stress, depression and disrupted social relationships. Therefore, many women seek medical treatment.
