Abstract

The Virial theorem, which is related to the Feynman-Hellmann (FH) theorem, usually applies to Hamiltonians without coordinate-momentum coupling terms. In this paper we discuss when there are coordinate-momentum coupling terms in N-mode Hamiltonians, how the Virial theorem should be modified, and the energy contribution arising from the coordinate-momentum coupling is also be discussed.
