Abstract
This article outlines the organisation and function of the Secretariat of an international standards committee ISO/IEC JTC1/SC27 ‘IT Security Techniques’, and presents some impressions by its Secretary of her responsibilities and work involved. It concludes with a few personal experiences expressed in a deliberately subjective way.
