Abstract
Recent achievements in the field of chemistry and technology of unsaturated polyester resins (UP) have been discussed and commented. The review bases on 141 literature references mainly_from the period 1998-2004. The following problems were presented: nanostructural polyester composites, UP of limited flammability, analysis of the process of thermal degradation of UP of increased flame resistance, curing comonomers, UP of decreased styrene emission, waterborne polyester resins. Especially ecological aspects of the theme were discussed from the point of view of European Union requirements.
