Abstract

On February 4, 2022, a vote of no confidence was announced in Montenegro to the “technocrat” government of Zdravko Krivokapic, who came to power as a result of severe internal crisis in the republic on August 30, 2020. Early parliamentary elections will be held in Montenegro in the spring of 2022. The author analyzes reasons for such a short ruling term of the opposition coalition, identifies internal ruptures in the government, and assesses the impact of internal situation in Montenegro on Russia's strategic interests in the Balkans.
