New synthetic routes to some nitrosyl rhenium complexes. Crystal, molecular and electronic structure of [ReCl 3(NO)(PPh 3) 2] and [ReCl 2(CO)(NO)(PPh 3) 2] complexes

Abstract

The reactions of the nitrosyl rhenium(II) complex [ReCl 3(NO)(OPPh 3)(PPh 3)] with triphenylphosphine, NaBH 4 in the presence of PPh 3, and CO in the presence of PPh 3 were examined. The rhenium nitrosyl complexes [ReCl 3(NO)(PPh 3) 2] ( 1), [ReCl 2(CO)(NO)(PPh 3) 2] ( 2) and [ReH 2(NO)(PPh 3) 3]·1/2C 6H 6 ( 3) obtained were characterised by IR, UV–Vis, NMR ( 1H and 31P) and magnetochemical measurements. For 1 and 2, the electronic, crystal and molecular structures were determined.
