Abstract

Specimens of the pagurid crab, Rhodochirus hirtimanus (Faxon, 1893) were collected in the central Gulf of California and represent a significant extension of its known range to the north. The species is redescribed and illustrated, including buccal appendages that had been only briefly described previously; a detailed description of setation is also provided. Des specimens du crabe paguride Rhodochirus hirtimanus (Faxon, 1893) ont ete recoltes dans le golfe de Californie central et representent une ampliation significative de sa distribution connue vers le nord. L'espece est redecrite et illustree, y-compris les appendices buccaux, brievement decrits auparavent, et les soies.
