Abstract

Robert M. White, president of the University Corporation for Atmospheric Research (UCAR) and an AGU Fellow, has been elected president of the National Academy of Engineering (NAE). White's 4‐year term begins July 1. He succeeds Courtland D. Perkins, who has been NAE president since 1975.As NAE president, White will serve as vice chairman of the National Research Council (NRC). Frank Press, president of the National Academy of Sciences and former AGU president, is NRC chairman.
