Abstract
Mesoporous silica of MCM-41 type modified by sulfonic groups and molybdenum atoms has been synthesized. First time was investigated the activity of MCM-41 with chemically immobilized sulfonic groups as oxidative desulfurization catalysts and its activity was compared with molybdenum containing analogs. The main factors affecting the process consisting of catalyst dosage, temperature, reaction time, oxidant dosage were investigated in detail. In optimal conditions dibenzothiophene and 4-methyldibenzothiophene were removed completely. It was shown that nonmetal containing MCM-SO3H is an effective catalyst of oxidation desulfurization even better than molybdenum containing analogs. These catalysts retain their activity in DBT oxidation for 10 cycles.
