Abstract

The idea of a restricted authority adaptive controller is introduced and its potential in power system applications explored. The relatively mature idea of statespace based self-tuning is then promoted as a possible method of implementing H ∞ adaptive controllers and a marine application is discussed. Finally the GPC and H ∞ techniques are combined in a H ∞ GPC algorithm which has some of the advantages of each.
