Nepticulidae from the Amazon rainforest: first discovery of females of the enigmatic genus Dvidulopsis and description of the Acalypha-feeding Stigmella mariusi sp. nov.
Upon the first discovery, this publication provides the results of the examination and documentation of the female genitalia of Dvidulopsis Stonis & Diškus, an endemic Neotropical genus previously known only from male specimens. It also describes Stigmella mariusi Stonis & Diškus, sp. nov., a previously overlooked Acalypha-feeding species of Nepticulidae from the western premontane Amazon.

Belladessus soqtapata, new species, is described from Peru from both male and female specimens. This is the third species described in this Neotropical genus, but the first with known male specimens. This is also the first species in the genus known from Peru, with the other species known from Venezuela and Suriname.

A male and female specimen of Prorates ballmeri Nagatomi and Liu were collected while in copula. The specimens were dissected to find that the elongate distiphallus of the male had been inserted within the spermathecal ducts of the female. The association of the male and female genitalia for this species is figured and discussed in relation to associated taxa with similar genitalic features. The species was originally described from three male specimens, which did not allow for comprehensive study of the variation in many characters. The male is redescribed based on many newly collected specimens to include additional characters and the species variation and the previously unknown female is described. Additional notes on the taxonomy of the genus Prorates are included.

The rarely seen Bathromelas Turner 1947, a monotypic Australian endemic genus with the species Bathromelas hyaloscopa (Meyrick & Lower, 1907), is rediscovered, and a new description is provided. The male genitalia, female, pupae of both sexes, late instar larvae, and the unique case design are all figured and described for the first time. The larval host plant is identified as Allocasuarina luehmannii (Casuarinaceae), with B. hyaloscopa regarded as a Casuarinaceae specialist, unusual as oiketicine psychids are typically polyphagous. Prior to this study the species was known from only three male specimens, with the most recent of those collected in 1938. The data for all known and new specimens is included, and a brief discussion on the systematic affinity of this genus is provided.

The endemic Australian genus Neodialineura Mann is revised to include 13 species. Three species are previously described: N. nitens (White) and N. saxatilis (White) from southern mainland Australia and Tasmania, and N. striatithorax Mann from eastern Australia. Ten species are described as new, including N. ataxia sp. nov., N. atmis sp. nov., N. bagdad sp. nov, N. bifaria sp. nov., N. litura sp. nov., N. polygramma sp. nov., N. signum sp. nov., N. spinosa sp. nov., N. tessella sp. nov. and N. trichidion sp. nov. This revision serves as an empirical example for modernising the process of documenting global biodiversity by making taxonomic description and key development more efficient by avoiding redundancy in data handling and using digital media. Complete taxonomic descriptions were generated using online specimen and image databases, and a character matrix in Structured Descriptive Data (SDD) format developed in Lucid Builder to simultaneously generate natural language descriptions and an interactive key. Numerous web resources are provided with taxonomic descriptions throughout the document including: a) links to archived images of all species on Morphbank, b) registration of authors, publications, taxon names and other nomenclatural acts in Zoobank, with assignment of Life Science Identifiers (LSIDs) for each, c) links to Genbank accession records for DNA sequences, and d) assignment of LSIDs to specimen records with links to respective records in an online Therevidae specimen database. Colour images of male and female specimens of all Neodialineura species are included, along with a traditional dichotomous key to species.

The tarantula genus Sericopelma was originally defined based on male specimens, most notably lacking tibial spurs on leg I. Early female specimens were unrecognised as Sericopelma, and typically placed in Eurypelma – a dumping ground for problem specimens. The first females were only later recognised, but authors failed to adequately define female Sericopelma. Here, the holotypes of the southern-most alleged Brachypelma species, Brachypelmaembrithes (Chamberlin & Ivie, 1936) and Brachypelmaangustum Valerio, 1980 were examined, and finding both to possess defining characteristics of Sericopelma were transferred. The taxonomic attributes to define Sericopelma relative to Brachypelma and select other Neotropical genera are discussed, especially for females. As important diagnostic characters for Sericopelma, the single (unilobar) spermathecae swollen at the apex forming a P-shaped cross-section, metatarsus IV with trace scopula, femur IV with a dense retrolateral pad of plumose hair, plus other attributes. Some past confusion in these characters are clarified and Sericopelma relative to Brachypelma and Megaphobemamesomelas are discussed. Finally recommendations are given about these taxonomic changes for CITES regulations.

Anastomoneura gen. nov. and A. guahybae sp. nov. are described and illustrated based on adult male and female specimens from the Mantiqueira mountain range, Minas Gerais State. This is the third genus recorded of the family Odontoceridae from South America. The new genus is characterized by the forewing anastomosis of veins R4 and R5 and male genitalia with a unique, tubular, projection dorsad to the plates of tergite X.

Stenogeocoris Montandon, 1913 was described to include S. horvathi based in one specimen from Córdoba Province, Argentina. The type specimen is lost and there are no records or additional material since the Montandon's description; thus, the identity of this taxon has remained uncertain until now. In this contribution, we redescribe the genus Stenogeocoris and the species S. horvathi, based on male and female specimens, including characters from the male genitalia, and compare Stenogeocoris with the other Neotropical genera

A new species, Zographetus dzonguensis sp. nov., is described based on three male specimens from Upper Dzongu, North Sikkim District, Sikkim, India. The new species is closely similar to Z. pangi from Guangdong and Z. hainanensis from Hainan, China, from which it is distinguished based on the following combination of external characters: (a) forewing with the white spot at the base of space M3 being sharply pointed at the inner edge and conspicuously more elongated, and (b) on underside of hindwing, all chocolate-brown spots being smaller, in Z. dzonguensis sp. nov. compared with both Z. pangi and Z. hainanensis. In Z. dzonguensis sp. nov., the male genitalia may be distinguished as follows: (c) tegumen and uncus are almost equal in length, (d) the dorsal outline of tegumen is relatively flat, and (e) saccus is distinctly bent upward as angle between vinculum and saccus is more acute than in Z. pangi and Z. hainanensis.

Buvatina iremella sp. n. is described from the southern Ural Mountains. Three male specimens were collected by light from an old taiga forest in the end of June. The main characteristics of the new taxon are long saccus and aedeagus in the male genitalia. The systematic position of the species is shortly discussed.

Physoderoides linnavuorii sp. nov. (Hemiptera: Heteroptera: Reduviidae: Physoderinae) is described based on one male specimen from Madagascar deposited in the Museum National d’Histoire Naturelle, Paris. The dorsal habitus, morphological characters of legs as well as the male genitalia are illustrated. In addition, a key for the identification of species of Physoderoides Miller, 1955 is provided.

Uma nova espécie de Rhodnius é descrita e ilustrada baseada em um exemplar macho do nordeste brasileiro. O espécime foi encontrado morto e ressecado. Esta espécie pode ser separada da espécie afim, R. paraensis Sherlock, Guitton & Miles, pelo seu maior tamanho, pelo aspecto geral de coloração do corpo, pela cor uniforme das pernas, pelas diferentes proporções entre as estruturas morfológicas da cabeça e dos segmentos do rostro; ainda, na genitália masculina, pelo aspecto do processo mediano do pigóforo, do falosoma e de seu processo.
