Abstract

This study is limited to the discussion of food consumption which is explored from the dimensions of local food preferences in destinations. This study has three objectives: to establish the neophilic tendency of foods to determine the consumption of new foods; how is the quality of food experiences with neophilia personalities; and how tourist food experiences are moderated by travel motives for new experiences about food in the places visited. This study illustrates a descriptive research scheme, tested on travelers who happen to pass through the city of Kebumen who enjoy "Ambal" satay food by 100 respondents. The study used a partial statistical test (t-test) and Moderated Regretion Analysis (MRA) to look for the effect of variable X on the Y variable. The results showed neophilia personality had a positive effect on the quality of experience. Travel motives that moderate the neophilia personality are not able to moderate the relationship of the neophilia personality to the quality of experience. The conclusions of the study show the higher the neophilia personality and travel motives, the more it can affect the quality of the experience but not with moderation.

KAJIAN LITERATUR DAN PENGEMBANGAN HIPOTESIS

Kualitas Pengalaman Pengalaman sebagai bentuk pengetahuan atau penguasaan terhadap peristiwa atau subjek yang diperoleh melalui keterlibatan atau paparan terhadapnya. Dimensinya yaitu cepatnya beradaptasi dengan hal-hal baru, tidak menyukai sesuatu yang berulang, cepat bosan terhadap apa yang telah diterimanya, memiliki obesei tinggi terhadap hal-hal baru, dan selalu ingin menciptakan kebaruan, dan perjalanan yang melalui kota sebagai penguat untuk menciptakan kualitas pengalaman individu. Neophilia dikaitkan dengan kecenderungan mendekati lingkungan baru dan perilaku inovatif yang mengeksploitasi lingkungannya berdasarkan pengalaman melalui hasil belajar, pengalaman dapat membantu dalam situasi baru (Kendal et al, 2005). Berdasarkan kajian tersebut, maka hipotesis terdiri hipotesis 1-6 merupakan pengaruh dimensi kepribadian neophilia dalam membentuk pengalaman dan 1 hipotesis bagaimana motif perjalanan individu dapat menciptakan peningkatan pengaruh kepribadian neophilia terhadap kualitas pengalaman. Agar kajian studi sesuai dengan fenomena empirik, diperlukan teknik pengambilan sampel non probability sampling (purposive sampling), dengan pertimbangan, yaitu: kepribadian setiap individu menentukan kualitas pengalaman yang berbeda-beda dan tidak sama untuk setiap jenis dan tujuan perjalanan yang melalui kota Kebumen. Uji parsial (t-test) untuk membuktikan apakah terdapat pengaruh antara masing-masing variabel independen (X) dan variabel dependen (Y) dan Moderated Regretion Analysis (MRA) untuk mencari pengaruh variabel X terhadap variabel Y
