Abstract

• Nematic. • Freédericksz transition. • Current constant. Liquid crystal (LC) community is working on understanding how LC reacts in various circumstances. These behaviors are caused by the orientation of the director vector n (average molecular orientation). In this context, experimental studies of the LC cell under various conditions are evaluated in this work. For example, but not limited: the complex permittivity over a large frequency range is measured. Under crossed polarizers, the transmitted intensity is studied. The voltage that circulates in an LC cell while a constant current flow, of the order of the nano-ampere, is present has been thoroughly researched to determine a direct measure of Freedericksz “E th ” transition. The outcomes of the various experiments are compared and found to agree.
