Abstract

Lorentz-force independent magnetoresistance was observed below 200 K in slightly underdoped Bi 2(Sr,La) 2CuO 6+δ crystals. The positive out-of-plane magnetoresistance at 200 K is decreased as the temperature is lowered and turns to negative at about 50 K. The out-of-plane resistance shows log T dependence in zero magnetic field, and the divergent profile is suppressed in intense magnetic field. These results indicate the responsibility of spin correlation for the c-axis transport and are discussed from a view point of a possible pseudo-spindashgap formation in this one CuO 2 layer system.
