Abstract
Domains, domain walls and etch pits are observed in KTa 1 - x Nb x O 3 crystals by scanning electron microscopy and X-ray topography. The nature of the contrast resulting from the domain structure is discussed. The correspondence between etch pits and dislocations is checked in a preliminary transmission electron microscopy study.
