Abstract

To the Editor: Atopic dermatitis (AD) is an inflammatory skin condition that is often chronic and relapsing, creating an ongoing disease burden for individuals and the health care system.1 While data and information has focused on the epidemiology and health care burden of AD, data on in-hospital incidence and temporal trends of hospitalizations are limited. This review aims to study longitudinal trends in hospitalizations of AD patients in the United States for a 21-year period using a national US population database.
