Abstract

A43-year-old male patient presented with gradually progressive swelling below the left eye for 3 months associated with spontaneous episodes of epistaxis for 1 week. On examination, there was 3*3 cm smooth, fluctuant swelling on the left side lacrimal fossa [Fig. 1A], the rest of the ophthalmologic examination was normal. The nasal examination revealed multiple small reddish pedunculated masses on the left lateral wall [Fig. 1B]. The mass was excised by a combined endoscopic and external route. Histopathological examination revealed subepithelium containing sporangia in varying stages of development surrounded by dense mixed inflammation suggestive of rhinosporidiosis [Fig. 1C].
