Abstract
ABSTRACT Nano-biofertilizers (NBFs), an emerging branch in agricultural science, represent a promising avenue for sustainable farming. This review aims to elucidate their role in enhancing crop productivity while minimizing environmental impact. NBFs, employing nanomaterials to encapsulate or deliver biological agents, nutrients, or bioactive compounds, exhibit unique features conducive to efficient nutrient uptake and targeted delivery to plants. They have shown immense potential in improving soil fertility, enhancing nutrient utilization efficiency, and mitigating the detrimental effects of conventional fertilizers. Additionally, NBFs promote plant growth, stress tolerance, and overall crop yield, contributing to sustainable agricultural practices. Ultimately, NBFs could play a pivotal role in addressing the global food security challenge while minimizing the ecological footprint of agricultural practices.
