Abstract
N‐heterocyclic carbene (NHC) catalyzed reactions of carboxylic acids play a crucial role in NHC catalysis, enabling the formation of both chiral and achiral functional molecules. In this review, the achievements in NHC catalyzed activations of carboxylic acids are summarized, and an outlook on future research directions is also provided.
