Abstract
Modal filtering based on warping transform from nonlinear time-frequency signal to linear is done to separate modes from broadband signal. And then, contribution of modes to interference striation could be obtained in order to explain the difference of waveguide invariant between modes. Furthermore, the variability of waveguide invariants in fluctuated shallow water with thermocline and internal waves is analyzed experimentally. The contribution of low- and higher-order filtered modes to interference patterns is given for explaining variability of waveguide invariants.
