Abstract
木材の加工工程には，製材，乾燥，接着，塗装等があるが，この中の乾燥工程では木材由来の揮発性有機化合物（VOC）が比較的多く排出されると考えられる．平成16年に大気汚染防止法が改正され，工場施設からのVOC排出規制が定められた．木材乾燥工程は法規制の対象ではないが，VOC排出低減の自主的取り組みが求められている．他方，木材関連工場からのにおいや，木材製品から放散するVOCについて関心が高まっている．本稿では，木材の乾燥工程で排出されるVOCについて概説する．
