Abstract
軽種馬の育成調教や競走成績に影響を及ぼす発育期整形外科的疾患（DOD）を回顧的に明らかにすることを目的に，国内の軽種馬生産牧場に対して，育成期全般に罹患したDODを含むすべての疾病について聞き取り調査を実施した．その結果，DODとして，腰痿，近位部関節の離断性骨軟骨症，骨端炎，肢軸異常，屈曲異常及び軟骨下骨囊胞があげられた．競走馬登録された個体の中で，種子骨炎，腱炎，外科手術を要する疝痛を罹患した個体は，病歴があげられなかった個体と比較して，初出走の時期が有意に遅延していた．一方で，購入前検査で発生率が高い遠位部関節の骨病変については競走への影響を訴える回答は得られず，深刻な症状を呈していない例が多いと考えられた．
