Lingual osseous choristoma is a very rare lesion first described as osteoma of the tongue by Monserrat. We present a case of osseous choristoma arising in the tongue of a 7-year-old girl. The lesion was a hard polypous mass measuring about 3.5×5.5mm, near theforaman caecum of the tongue. The mass was removed under general anesthesia.Histological examination showed a well circumscribed mass of dense lamellar bone with Haversian canals.
