Abstract
国立研究開発法人日本原子力研究開発機構は，地層処分技術に関する研究開発のうち深地層の科学的研究（地層科学研究）の一環として，岐阜県瑞浪市において瑞浪超深地層研究所の建設を進めてきた．同研究所における調査研究の一環として，岩盤の地質学的不均質性や，物質の移行経路として重要な地質構造などを把握することを目的として，物理探査，ボーリング調査などの地質学的調査を実施している．本報では，特に地下の研究坑道において実施している壁面地質調査の手法の設定の背景と実施内容，並びに取得情報を活用した地質構造のモデル化などに関する研究事例を報告する．
