Abstract

Isozymes of esterase (Est) and malic enzyme (ME) are an effective hereditary index for discriminating between Torymus sinensis and T. beneficus. In particular, the ME zymogram pattern of T. sinensis has a single main band which is slower than that of T. beneficus. Morphologically-indistinguishable males of the two species can be distinguished by the ME zymogram.
