Abstract
In order to perform vibration reduction of complex structures efficiently, a method of using Transfer Path Analysis (TPA) has become widespread. In this study, by fusing the TPA and wave analysis, a technique for intentionally changing a path of wave propagation was developed. As a first step, this paper deals with a design method of a path of wave propagation in the active part having vibration sources were considered. By attaching local damping elements to a discontinuity of an active part, the path of wave propagation was changed. The techniques can change the energy flow which is transmitted from active part to passive part by the wave. Therefore, it is considered to be useful in reducing vibration and noise of machinery.
