Abstract

Concerning the state of usage on online retrieval during April, 1982 to March, 1983 in members of the Japan Medical Library Association, numbers of libraries by the total numbers of queries, usage time, online print, basic charge, retrieval fee, retrieval systems used, and average number of use of database, search time, online print, retrieval fee are comparatively studied. The problems on retrieval process, databases, the role and training of searcher, and effects on libraries by online retrieval are also discussed.
