Abstract

Thymoma is associated with multiple autoimmune disorders, most commonly myasthenia gravis (MG). However, symptomatic MG may first present following thymectomy. We report an unusual patient with paraneoplastic limbic encephalitis diagnosed a few months after total thymectomy for asymptomatic thymoma, followed 18years later by the onset of symptomatic MG without evidence of tumor recurrence.
