Abstract
The preparation of some π-donors [:bis(alkylthio)−1,1′,3, 3′-tetrathiafulvalenes, bis(alkylthio) -1′, 1′, 2′,2′-tetrathiafulvalenes, and 4,5-bis(alkylthio)-1,2-dithiolium salts] and some π-acceptors [:metal (M)-1,2-dithiolenes, M=Ni, Pt, Pd] is briefly described. Also the preparation of a number of their charge transfer (CT) complexes is described, and preliminary results on the structural electrical and optical properties of the CT complexes are reported.
