Abstract

In this paper, we have made an analysis of connection provisioning by calculating the probability of a number of call arrival requests for a number of available labels in a link with the code by applying Poisson distribution function random call arrival rate optical code switched Generalized Multiprotocol Label Switching (OCS-GMPLS) core networks. Further, we have suggested a switch (OCS) method for GMPLS network and proposed a traffic model for the GMPLS optical network to find out the probability of call blocking. We have estimated and found that the connection establishment probability increases for different call arrival rates as well as with increasing call arrival requests, also a high connection establishment probability for small call arrival rate can be accommodated by increasing call arrival requests. The offered load is reduced for a small call holding time by increasing the call arrival rate. The probability of blocking of the network reduced for different call (connection) arrival rate as well as with the increase in the channel number, also the network probability of blocking is minimized for small call (connection) arrival rate as well as with the increase in the channel number. Finally, the performance of call holding time has been compared with the call blocking probability performance.
