Abstract
The multiplicity data of 12C-C/N/O and 12C-Ag/Br interactions at 4.5 A GeV c-1 have been analysed in terms of a newly proposed picture of particle production, based on the 'two-sources model', which assumes a two-component chaotic source along with a coherent one. The experimental data show a surprising agreement with the model. The detailed analysis reveals some interesting features of the particle production process.
