The course of the disease was unique in that it contained three distinct clinical remissions, each initiated by treatment with a-methopterin. The course and therapy are depicted in figure 1.CASE REPORTA 32 year old German Jewish housewife was admitted to the New York Hospital in June, 1949, with a history of fatigability, fever, sore throat and swollen neck glands for two months.Physical examination revealed fever and pallor.
