Abstract
In a city of recognized historical heritage, Mons ventures in mobility and contemporary architecture. Calatrava was hired to design the new multimodal station and its surrounding infrastructure after winning the tender launched in 2004. The gallery of the new station, a bridge over the railroad tracks and platforms that connects two previously disconnected distinctive areas of the city: the less dense residential area in the north with the historic city to the south.
