Abstract

The use of open wires to provide a high-capacity carrier telephone system in conditions where radio interference is very light and climate extremes unknown is described. The system is specially applicable to underdeveloped territories where two pairs of relatively light construction may be used to provide at least 132 channels over distances of 500 miles.
