Abstract

Purpose: Both subcutaneous fat and thigh muscle fatty infiltration are negatively associated with the progression of osteoarthritis (OA) and post-traumatic OA (PTOA). However, the involvement of knee and thigh fat in PTOA following ACL reconstruction (ACLR) remains under-explored. In this multi-site, multi-vendor MRI study, we investigate associations between knee subcutaneous fat, thigh subcutaneous fat, and thigh intramuscular fat in ACLR legs and contralateral legs.
