Abstract

YBa 2Cu 3−xSn xO 7−δ (0≤x≤1) samples were synthetized. For x<0.18, the orthorhombic samples are superconducting, T c being nearly constant. From x≥0.06 a new disordered perovskite — like phase is detected. From Mössbauer spectra Sn is always 4 +. Two doublets are necessary to fit the pure 1 2 3 spectrum in agreement with only one of the various proposed solutions. The populations of the two doublets are discussed with regard to the Cu sites. It is therefore possible to deduce approximatively the proportions of the two phases in agreement with X-rays results.
