Abstract

Both architecture and painting belong to the arts, and additionally they cross talk with each other. The architectural object itself, such as buildings or constructions, is often an independent work of art. Peter. It is worth quoting here a statement by Waldemar Januszczak "Where in these mentioned works by Bernini does architecture end and art begin? Or is it the other way around?" (Januszczak W). The research in the present work has been focused in particular on a cross-sectional view of the links between architectural motifs and paintings, combined with the creation of perspective, also with the aid of a camera obscura. The subject matter discussed in this article is extremely extensive, because almost every artist, and we are talking only about these great masters, has in his dossier works showing architectural elements, even in the background. This minireview, by necessity, includes only selected works that are an individual choice of the author.
