Abstract

In this work we report a simple electrodeposition method to synthesize novel MoS2/Ni-P hybrid electrocatalyst for the first time. Compared with pure MoS2 and Ni-P, the hybrid MoS2/Ni-P exhibits the better electrocatalytic activity for HER in alkaline media and a excelletn stability of MoS2/Ni-P can be obtained. The enhancement of HER performances may be owing to the excellent conductivity of Ni-P and the synergistic effect between Ni-P and MoS2. The simple synthesizing hybrid materials through electrodeposition process provide an efficient approach for MoS2-based electrocatalysts for HER in large-scale industrial alkaline water electrolyzers.
