Abstract

This paper reports the syntheses and characteristics of several monomeric and dimeric copper complexes coordinated with the new tridentate ligand N, N-di(benzotriazol-1-ylethylene)imine (IDBt). The measurements of the superoxide dismutase (SOD) mimetic activity for the model compounds have been performed by means of a modified nitroblue tetrazoliuin (NBT) photoreduction. The rate constants kQ of the catalytic superoxide dismutation have been obtained.
