Abstract

Nonstationary energy balance equations are derived for calculating the lattice and electron temperatures in metals. Results are presented for the lattice and electron temperature distributions in a shock-wave front. The results of these investigations are used as a basis for substantiating a method for monitoring the stressed state of the structural components of a nuclear power plant.
