Abstract
Molecular Study of Sortase Enzyme in Streptococcus pyogenes Isolated From Patients With Tonsillitis in Kirkuk City
Highlights
From a total of (300) throat swabs collected from patients suffering from tonsillitis whom they attend to some of Primary Health Care Centers in Kirkuk City during the period from November (2012) to May (2013)
Patients age were from (2-60) years .Only (16) isolates of Strep. pyogenes were obtained. These isolates detected by standard bacteriological methods and by Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) technique by detecting the presence of the diagnostic gene
Specific primers were used for the detection of the genes which encode for sortase enzymes (SrtA, SrtB and SrtC) respectively
