Abstract
In this study dental samples were collected from different hospitals of Hyderabad. Various plant extracts were assayed for phytochemical analysis and also for antibacterial activity. Anti-bacterial activity was screened against the bacteria isolated from decayed tooth sample. Among the plant extracts Piper betel leaf showed good antibacterial activity against the dental pathogen isolate. The results were supported by docking studies which showed the active molecules of the plant secondary metabolites. Hence, this study reveals that Piper betel can used as potential natural product to fight against dental caries.
