Abstract
The article theoretically substantiates the issue of social support for single mothers: the historical aspects of the concept «motherhood» are revealed and the level of legislative consolidation of the concept of «single mother» in Ukraine is determined; modern technologies of social work with single mothers and the influence of wartime realities on their form and content are characterized, as well as typical problems of single-parent families are described. The international experience of socio-psychological work with single mothers in wartime conditions is described, and on its basis, the main strategies of social assistance to single mothers implemented in different countries are grouped.Along with the theoretical analysis, the article highlights the results of the empirical research, which consisted of several stages: definition of the goal, tasks, object and subject of the research; choice of research methods; direct research; case analysis of the received data and the selection of ways to overcome the outlined problems. The results of the data obtained during the use of psychological diagnostic methods made it possible to describe in detail the main psychological and interpersonal problems that arise by single mothers at various stages of their life. With the help of the data obtained during the sociological survey, the actual and most significant problems and needs faced by single mothers in Ukraine since the intensification of the military conflict in the greater territory of Ukraine were formed.The field research data made it possible to conduct an effective case analysis, with the aim of summarizing the data and outlining the most urgent social problems of single mothers, which can be solved through introduction and implementation of social projects in Ukraine and individual territorial communities.Based on the results of the theoretical analysis and conducted empirical research, the article draws general conclusions regarding the socio-psychological problems of single mothers in Ukraine and suggests ways to overcome the main problems and increase the ability to meet the basic needs of this category of citizens.
